Mumbai’s very own Dabbawalas!
Mumbai’s Dabbawala’s have been given a six sigma rating and are recognised as one of the most reliable supply chains in the world – despite the fact that they do not rely on technology and most of the delivery staff/member-shareholders are not very literate. When Prince Charles visited them during his visit to India, even he had to fit in with their timings, as their tight collection and delivery schedule did not allow for any flexibility. |
